Purple Sage (Salvia dorii)

A close look at these low bushes rewards the viewer with lovely, unusually
shaped flowers ringed around the stems in tiers. The purple blossoms stand
out against the grayish leaves, but are not noticeable from the distance.
They draw numerous insects and hummingbirds to their nectar. If one sits
near a Purple Sage in the morning, you will be able to take photos of (or
simply enjoy) a number of butterflies, a variety of bees, and an occasional
hummingbird.
