Planning for Spring/Summer Field Trips

Grant Cummings will be coordinating field trips for the coming season. If you have any ideas for interesting locations or if you would like to lead a field trip, contact Grant (cgeotech@gmail.com).

Native Plant Demonstration Garden at WDFW Office

The Northeast Chapter is working to transition the landscape at the WDFW Region 1 Office Building to a native garden, and to do this with the intent to educate and inspire our fellow Inland Northwest gardeners. The garden will include vignettes of four regional habitats. Education and outreach will include an informative web page hosted by the WDFW, brochures for self-guided tours of the garden and integrative projects that will teach about or otherwise engage local groups in native plant appreciation. If you are interested in helping out, here are the folks to talk to:

Brochure design (content, layout and production costs): Kassie Swenson

Sign design: Julie Beckstead (beckstead@gonzaga.edu)

Webpage content: Robin O'Quinn (freya.oquinn@gmail.com) and Suzanne Schwab

Outreach and Education (events planning and implementation): Grant Cummings (cgeotech@gmail.com) and Brenda McCracken

Native plant propagation: Diane Stutzman, Robin O'Quinn, Julie Beckstead. Contact Robin O'Quinn (freya.oquinn@gmail.com).
