Education Committee

Fresh water, fresh air, wildlife habitat all would not exist without our native plants. Our chapter mission is to promote the appreciation and conservation of Washington's native plants and habitats. The education committee does this by outreach to the community at large and to our members.

The Education Committee is responsible for:

Updating education kits available to elementary school teachers.
Staffing the education booth at events like the Pacific Northwest Flower and Garden Show, Issaquah Salmon Days and many more events.
Establish and maintain presentations to public groups on topics such as "Gardening with Native Plants", "Identifying Native Plants", "Native Plants for Wildlife".

We have recently designed a new education display. We are currently looking for people to:

Update our public presentations and convert them to Power Point presentations.
Create a handout for elementary school children and their parents.
Look for new ways to involve our membership and the public.
