The Growing Wild program is changing from individual garden consultations to a classroom format in order to reach our members in a more efficient manner. The home consultations required an inordinate amount of volunteer effort for the education and outreach provided.

We are now offering all of the same information in a workshop setting. This will allow interested gardeners to have access to a larger pool of expertise.  It will also allow participants to meet other homeowners who are transforming their gardens. Workshop participants will bring their site plan, photographs, and questions to the workshop, and our consultants will work with them to find the best solution to individual situations as well as providing general gardening principles. Our hope is to provide better education for the home gardener while using our WNPS talent pool in a more efficient and effective manner.

The first Growing Wild workshop took place in March 2011. Any questions or comments can be directed to Deb Gurney, Education Chair, at deborahgurney@comcast.net.
