Education Grants Available From WNPS
The Education Committee encourages educators throughout our state to develop projects about native plants and plant habitats for their classes. Teachers who have been granted awards can serve as mentors for other teachers hoping to do similar projects in their school districts.

Calling All Lichen Lovers
The North Puget Sound lichen study group has  monthly meetings at WWU in Bellingham. Bring specimens to study and share. For further information contact Melissa Duffy via email to thrivingsalmon@yahoo.com or phone 360-679-1255.

Annotated Plant Bibliography
Salal Chapter member Thad Davis has published an annotated native plant bibliography for our area. Subjects include: botanical exploration, botanical terms, ethnobotany, field guides, floras, geology, gardening, propagation, wildlife, natural history, mosses, lichens, ferns, mushrooms, nomenclature, trees, weeds, wetlands and winter botany. This document is currently available in Word format. Please send email comments and additions to Thad at aristata@fidalgo.net.

Back issues are available from the Editor for the cost of photocopying. Free copies in Word format are also available by email.
