Mission Statement: To promote the appreciation and conservation of Washington's native plants and their habitats through study, education, and advocacy.

Central Puget Sound Chapter Native Plant Sale Events

Our native plant sales are greatly anticipated in the community and benefit our Central Puget Sound (CPS) chapter. Plants Sales are held both Spring and Fall.

Traditionally, at our spring sale, we are proud to carry a large local selection of over 200 species of pollinator friendly, beautiful native bulbs, trees, shrubs, perennials and ground covers that are ideal for gardens in Western Washington. An early shopping entry for the rarest plants is one of the perks for WNPS members. Native plant experts will be on-site to provide gardening tips and advice and to answer questions about planting with native species.

Proceeds from the sale represents the major part of CPS income. CPS relies on this income to fund its core programs: Lectures and Workshops, Education, Steward Grants, and Stewardship.

Our plant sale events have been powered by the dedication and energy of our volunteers. Thank you! We also are indebted to individuals, vendors and organizations who have donated native plants, materials and/or discounted services and fees to keep our expenses low. If you wish to contribute to our plant sale by donating your native plants, please visit the Nursery page. If you have any questions or wish to share your ideas and comments regarding our plant sale events, please contact the plant sale chair, Mary Nakasone via .

Our Chapter will be selling native plants from your donations and from our CPS nursery at the King County Master Gardeners’ fall event - “Cool Plants, Hot Tips.” This event will be held from 9:00-3:00 on Sunday, September 12 at the Bellevue Botanical Garden (BBG). It will include not only plant sales by other small vendors, but also tours of the Native Discovery Garden and other areas of the BBG, special speakers, and more. Pre-registration for speakers and tours is requested. You can do this at Master Gardener Foundation of King County |  Fall Plant Sale Speakers (mgfkc.org). We hope you will come, tour the Native Discovery Garden with us, buy some native plants to support our chapter and your yard, and see what else the garden has to offer.

ALSO – OUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT NEEDS YOUR HELP! We could especially use:

  1. Your plant donations
  2. Cashiers at the sales table
  3. People to staff our WNPS information table

If you have plants to donate, please email our Nursery Co-Chairs, Zak Bartholomew at and/or Allison Bachner at by August 31 to discuss what you have to offer, or contact Franja Bryant at .

If you can volunteer to help staff this event either as a cashier or at our information table, please sign up at volunteersignup.org/PQ7JF or contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Lorraine Sawicki at or
